The Darwin Correspondence Project is publishing letters written by and to the naturalist Charles Darwin (1809–1882). His experiments on nutrition of Utricularia are not sufficiently exact or complete to allow them to be published. He will resume experimentation and report to CD.

Thanks ADeB for sending specimens of Utricularia to Francis [Darwin]. Urges him to publish his observations, because Utricularia differs widely from Drosera. CD has been unable to detect any evidence of true digestion in Utricularia.
