Ich bin lange krank gewesen, lieber Herr Holtze, u. wohnte 4 Monate lang bei Dr Büttner, als Gast, um bei meinem Brustleiden durch den Winter zu kommen. Nachdem ich nun zurückkomme u. in meiner Office aufräume, finde ich die beigefügte Namensliste, die nie an Sie abgegangen zu sein scheint.

Ich hoffe, dass Sie die Sendungen von trockenen Pflanzen nicht ganz einstellen werden. Sind Sie verpflichtet, solche an den bot. Garten in Adelaide zu liefern? In solchem Falle würde ich schwerlich ja wieder etwas von Ihnen bekommen, u. müsste mich dann ganz auf Mr Foelsche dort verlassen. Sie ehrend u. Ihnen Alles Gute wünschend

Die Castilloa liefert eine der besten Sorten von Gummi elasticum in Süd Amerika. Sollte die Manihot Glazioui bei Ihnen Samen tragen, so wäre ich sehr dankbar für solche.

I have been ill for a long time, dear Mr Holtze, and lived with Dr Büttner as guest for 4 months, to get through the winter with my chest complaint. On returning to and tidying up my office I find the enclosed list of [plant] names, which does not seem to have been sent to you.¹

I hope that you are not going to discontinue the sending of dried plants altogether. Are you obliged to send these to the Botanic Garden in Adelaide? In that case I would be unlikely to get anything further from you, and would then have to rely entirely on Mr Foelsche there.
