Henry Colburn (1784/5–1855)

Publisher. Proprietor of the English and Foreign Circulating Library in London, where he began his publishing operation, 1806–24. Co-founded the New Monthly Magazine and Universal Register; founded the Literary Gazette and other periodicals. Ran publishing operations in New Burlington Street, 1824–32. Set up premises at Great Marlborough Street in 1836.
