Charles Cowper (1807–75)

Statesman and farmer. Secretary of the Church and Schools Lands Corporation, New South Wales, Australia. Between 1856 and 1865, Cowper held a number of posts in various administrations, serving as colonial secretary between 1860 and 1863. Appointed agent-general for New South Wales, 1870.
