Frédéric Cuvier (1773–1838)

French naturalist. Younger brother of Georges Cuvier. Head keeper of the menagerie at the Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle, 1804–38. The chair of comparative physiology was created for him at the Muséum in 1837. Foreign member, Royal Society of London, 1835.
