James Dallas (1853–1916)

Museum curator and librarian. Son of William Sweetland Dallas and Frances Esther Dallas. Assistant secretary, librarian, and curator of the Geological Society of London. Assistant in the library of the Geological Society, 1872; in the library and museum, 1878–9. Curator of the Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter. Member of the Bristol Naturalists’ Society; honorary member of the Bristol Microscopical Society. Local secretary, Society of Antiquaries. Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, 1884.
