William Boyd Dawkins (1837–1929)

Geologist and palaeontologist. Member of the Geological Survey of Great Britain, 1861–9. Curator of natural history, Manchester Museum, 1869. Professor of geology, Owens College, Manchester, 1874–1908. Specialised in fossil mammals. FRS 1867.
