Warren De la Rue (1815–89)
Printer, astronomer, and chemist. Educated in Paris. Entered his father’s printing firm, De la Rue & Sons. Published researches on practical chemistry and astronomy that he conducted at his private laboratory and observatory. Noted for his work on celestial photography. President of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1864–6; of the Chemical Society, 1867–9 and 1879–80. FRS 1850.
