Eugène Desmarest (1816–89)

French entomologist. Member of the Société entomologique de France from 1838; secretary, 1840–89. Keeper of the Department of Comparative Anatomy, Museum of the Jardin des plantes. Co-author of the Encyclopédie d’histoire naturelle (1851–61).
