Ours Pierre Armand Dufrénoy (1792–1857)

French geologist and mineralogist. Worked with Élie de Beaumont on a geological map of France, 1822–41. Professor of mineralogy, École des Mines, 1835–48; director, 1848–57. Professor of mineralogy, Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle, 1847.
