Peter Martin Duncan (1824–91)

Physician, zoologist, and geologist. Physician, Essex and Colchester Hospital, 1848–59; consultant physician, county asylum and Oldham Club. Practised at Blackheath from 1860. Professor of geology, King’s College, London, 1870. Secretary of the Geological Society of London, 1864–70; president, 1876–8. Specialist on living and fossil corals and Mesozoic echinoids. FRS 1868.
