Joseph Henry Gilbert (1817–1901)

Agricultural chemist. Collaborated with John Bennet Lawes at the Rothamsted Agricultural Station, 1843–1900. Sibthorpian Professor of rural economy, Oxford University, 1884–90. Knighted, 1893. FRS 1860.
