George Gordon (1801–93)

Scottish botanist, geologist, and clergyman. Minister of Birnie, near Elgin, Morayshire, 1832–89. Specialised in the stratigraphy and fossil vertebrates of Elgin sandstone. Founded the Elgin and Morayshire Literary and Scientific Association.
