William Green (1796–1881)

American hardware merchant and Swedenborgian. Hardware merchant in New York. A founder of the New York Anti-Slavery Society in the 1830s, and later vice-president of the American Anti-Slavery Society. Bought twenty acres at Llewellyn Park, New Jersey, 1853. Later became a radical Swedenborgian.
