Charles Ottley Groom Napier (1839–94)

Tobago-born imposter. Wrote books and articles on natural history topics from a Christian viewpoint. Adopted the additional name Napier in 1865. Adopted the title prince of Mantua and Montferrat, and claimed descent from, among others, King David of Israel. Advocate of vegetarianism and teetotalism.
