Arnold Henri Guyot (1807–84)

Swiss geographer and glacial geologist who emigrated to the United States in 1848. Studied the distribution of erratic boulders in Switzerland, 1840–7. Professor of physical geography and geology at Princeton, 1854–84, where he founded a museum.
