Claude Hamilton (1813–84)

Politician. Raised to the rank of a marquess’s son, 1818. Educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. MP for Tyrone, 1835–7, 1839–74. Treasurer of the Household, 1852 and 1858–9; vice-chamberlain, 1866–8.
