Thomas Hamilton, 9th earl of Haddington (1780–1858)

Politician. Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, 1834–5. First Lord of the Admiralty, 1841–6, and Lord Privy Seal, 1846. Succeeded to the earldom in 1828.
