Edward William Vernon Harcourt (1825–91)

Naturalist and politician. An active member of the artillery volunteer movement from 1862. Sheriff of Oxfordshire, 1875. MP for Oxfordshire, 1878–85; for South Oxfordshire, 1885–6. Studied the natural history of Madeira.
