William Aurelius (Aurelius) Harland (1822–58)
Scholar and physician. Trained in Edinburgh. Married Mary Ann Foster, a servant, and left for Hong Kong in 1846. Resident surgeon of the Victoria Seamens’ Hospital, Hong Kong. Contributed studies on Chinese medicine and physiology to the Royal Asiatic Society.
