Richard Harte (1840–1903)

Irish landowner, entrepreneur, and writer. Moved to Kent by 1871. On the council of the Dialectical Society of London, 1871. Emigrated to Australia, 1873; his son, Richard Gerald Harte, was born there in 1875. A patent-holder in Newport, Campbell, Kentucky, by 1880. A journalist in Croydon in 1891, and a writer in New York in 1900.
