Frederik Anthony von Hartsen (1838–77)

Dutch botanist and philosopher. Studied philosophy at Leiden, and medicine and philosophy at Utrecht, taking a PhD at Utrecht in 1861. Moved to Cannes in 1863 after suffering from tuberculosis. Published many works of philosophy and psychology in German and Dutch.
