Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807–94)

Natural history artist and sculptor. Assistant superintendent of the Great Exhibition, 1851. Commissioned by the Crystal Palace Company to construct life-size replicas of extinct animals for the park in 1852. Illustrated Fish (part 4) and Reptiles (part 5) for the Zoology of the voyage of HMS Beagle.
