Reinhold Friedrich Hensel (1826–81)

German naturalist, zoologist, and palaeontologist. Taught natural history in Berlin, 1850–60. Commissioned by the Berliner Akademie to conduct zoological studies in southern Brazil, 1863–6. Professor of zoology, Forstakademie in Proskau, from 1867; at the Agricultural Institute in Proskau from 1881.
