Robert Hogg (1818–97)
Scottish horticulturist and pomologist. Gained practical horticultural training with Peter Lawson in Edinburgh and Hugh Ronalds in Brentford, after which he studied in Paris, Belgium, and Germany. Partner in a nursery in Brompton Park, London, 1842–51. Co-editor of the Cottage Gardener (from 1861, Journal of Horticulture), 1855–95.
