James Hudson (1810–85)

Diplomat. Assistant private secretary to King William IV before joining the foreign service and becoming Secretary to the Hague legation, 1843. Envoy to Rio de Janerio, 1850; served on the legation to Turin, 1851–63. Supporter of Italian unification. Knighted, 1863.
