Andrew Leith Adams (1827–82)

Army surgeon and naturalist. Appointed army surgeon, 1848; served in India, 1849–54; had postings in Malta and New Brunswick before retiring in 1873. Professor of zoology, College of Sciences, Dublin, 1873. Professor of natural history, Queen’s College, Cork, Ireland, 1878. FRS 1872.
