Alexander Andreevich Keyserling (1815–91)

Russian geologist, palaeontologist, and botanist. Accompanied Roderick Impey Murchison on his expedition to Russia in 1841. Official handling special missions in the Mining Department of the Russian government, 1841–50. Thereafter, travelled very little until 1860 when he made several journeys to the Pyrenees with Edouard de Verneuil.
