Jean Théodore Lacordaire (1801–70)

French naturalist, entomologist, and traveller. Professor of zoology, Liège university, Belgium, from 1835; professor of comparative anatomy from 1838. Made numerous voyages to South America under the auspices of Georges Cuvier. Published mainly on entomology.
