William Allen Miller (1817–70)

Chemist and astronomer. Professor of chemistry, King’s College, London, from 1845. Pioneered the use of spectroscopic analysis in chemistry. Developed a telescope to give spectra of celestial objects, providing detailed information on stellar chemistry. FRS 1845.
