Gerrit Jan von Mulder (1802–80)
Dutch physician and organic chemist. Practised medicine in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, lectured at the Bataafsch Genootschap der Proefondervindelijke Wijsbegeerte, and taught botany to student apothecaries before joining the faculty at the new medical school in Rotterdam in 1828. Professor of chemistry, University of Utrecht, 1840–68.
