Patrick Nicol (1847–73)

Scottish-born physician and mental health practitioner. MD, Aberdeen, 1871. Clinical assistant, West Riding Lunatic Asylum, Wakefield, Yorkshire; assistant medical officer, Sussex County Asylum, 1870; physician, Bradford Infirmary. Forced to resign from his post at Sussex County Asylum for insulting the medical superintendent. Published papers on mental illness.
