David Dale Owen (1807–60)

American geologist. State geologist of Indiana, 1837. Commissioned to make a survey of districts of Wisconsin and Iowa, 1839. He extended this work, 1847–52, and published a report in 1852. State geologist of Kentucky, 1854–9; of Arkansas, 1857–60.
