John Palliser (1807–87)

Geographer and explorer. Undertook a hunting expedition in the western and north-western districts of North America, 1847, and published in 1853 a popular account of his experiences. Commanded the British North American Exploring Expedition, 1857–60, surveying the boundary territories of British North America between Lake Superior and the Pacific.
