James Pardon (1793/4–1862)

Artist. Began as a miniaturist but later advertised as a portrait and animal painter. Worked in Canterbury, 1814–29. Moved to Suffolk, the birthplace of his wife, Elizabeth, whom he married in 1826. Spent his last years at Shrewsbury. Exhibited at the Royal Academy.
