Clergyman and headmaster. Attended Shrewsbury School, 1821–4. B.A., Trinity College, Cambridge, 1828. Assistant master at Shrewsbury School, 1828–9. Headmaster of Liverpool Collegiate School, 1829–34. Tutor at Durham University, 1834–41. Headmaster at Repton School, 1841–54.
