Jean Louis Marie Poiret (1755–1834)

French clergyman, naturalist, and traveller. Collaborated with Lamarck on the botanical dictionary of the Encyclopédie. Taught natural history at the Ecole Centrale de l’Aisne. Lived in Paris after 1806, publishing chiefly botanical works.
