Charles Allen Thorndike (Allen) (Thorndike) Rice (1851–89)

American editor, publisher, and journalist. BA, Oxford, 1874. Purchased the North American Review in 1876; editor, 1876–89. Purchased a controlling interest in Le Matin, 1884, and helped establish a foreign press syndicate.
