Rudolf Ehrenfried (Rudolf) Riemann (1825–85)

German agriculturalist and promoter of alpine tourism. In the late 1840s, studied agriculture, ecology, and natural science at Berlin. Bought the manor at Sagschütz bei Breslau, where he was a sheep-breeder, 1850. Bought an estate at Zell am See, 1868. Chairman, Pinzgau alpine club, 1871. Responsible for building several mountain paths and guest-houses and organising guided climbing in the area.
