Wilhelm Roux (1850–1924)

German experimental embryologist. Studied medicine in Jena, Berlin, and Straßburg (Strasbourg), 1873–8. Assistant at the hygienic institute in Leipzig, 1878–9. Worked at the anatomical institute in Breslau (Wrocław), 1879–89. Professor of anatomy at Innsbruck, 1889–95. Director of the anatomical institute at the University of Halle, 1895–1921.
