William Roxburgh (1751–1815)

Scottish botanist and surgeon. Medical officer with the Madras Medical Service, 1776–80. Superintendent, Samulcotta Botanic Garden, 1781–93. Chief botanist to the East India Company and superintendent of the Calcutta Botanic Garden, 1793–1813.
