Samuel Hubbard Scudder (1837–1911)

American entomologist. Graduated from the Lawrence Scientific School in 1862; assistant to Louis Agassiz, 1862–4. Librarian and custodian of collections, Boston Society of Natural History, 1864–70; vice-president, 1874–80; president, 1880–7. Palaeontologist, United States Geological Survey, 1886–92.
