Adolf Speyer (1812–92)
German naturalist, entomologist. Studied medicine at Göttingen and Berlin, 1830–5; MD, 1835. As a naturalist, he was influenced by Alexander von Humbolt’s writing on plant geography, and tried to apply the principles to his zoogeographical studies.
