Henry Strachey (1816–1912)

Army officer and botanist. Lieutenant-colonel in the Bengal army. Brother of Richard Strachey. Member of the Tibetan Boundary Commission, 1848. Surveyed the Upper Indus Valley. Collected plants at Pagong Lake in eastern Ladakh, 1846.
