Archibald Campbell Tait (1811–82)

Clergyman and educationalist. Headmaster, Rugby School, 1842–50. Dean of Carlisle, 1850–6. Known as a university reformer; nominated a member of the Oxford University commission in 1850. Bishop of London, 1856–69. Archbishop of Canterbury, 1869–82.
