Thomas Thomson (1773–1852)

Chemist. Private teacher of chemistry in Edinburgh, 1800–11. Founded Annals of Philosophy in 1813 and edited the journal until 1821. Lecturer in chemistry, Glasgow University, 1817; regius professor, 1818–52. FRS 1811.
