Dawson Turner (1775–1858)

Botanist and antiquary. Father-in-law of William Jackson Hooker. Studied cryptogamic plants and algae. After 1820, directed his attention to the study of antiquities and formed an extensive collection of manuscripts, autographs, and drawings. FRS 1802.
