Edmund Venables (1819–95)

Antiquary and divine. Curate at Bonchurch, Isle of Wight, 1853–5, remaining on the Isle of Wight until the mid-1860s. Compiled a guide to the island, published in 1860. Moved to Lincoln, and was appointed to a prebendal stall in the cathedral, 1865; precentor and canon-residentiary, 1867. Wrote several guides to Lincoln.
