Alexander Wallace (1829–99)

Physician, entomologist, and plantsman. BA, Oxford, 1852; MD, Oxford, 1861. Physician in Colchester from 1859. Tried to introduce silkworm culture to England. Introduced many new varieties of lilies and orchids from Japan.
