Charles Richard Weld (1823–69)

Author and librarian. Attended classes at Trinity College, Dublin, but did not take a degree. Secretary of the London Statistical Society, 1839. Studied law and was called to the bar in 1844 but did not practise. Librarian of the Royal Society of London, 1843–61. Published a history of the society in 1848, and a series of travel books.
